14 Activated sludge plant, total oxidation, POLI 1, entirely made of polyethylene, in one piece, seamless,consisting of two modules: A first one,OXIDATION,where a thorough aeration of the incoming sewage takes place. An external air blower provides air. A second one, SETTLING, which is realised in a conical basin, equipped with an air lift device. This device is used to recycle sludge in the oxidation module by regulating its valve. The system is complete of control panel in a PVC shell. Some accessories are available: - Grid with manual cleaning - Grease trap - Outlet disinfection phase Power consumption varies from 1.1 to 3 kW.Tension may be 220 or 380 Volts for smaller systems, 380 Volts for larger ones. Dig a hole of appropriate dimensions and line a 10 cm thick sand layer at the bottom, grain size 0-5mm, dampen the sand and level it. Lay the plant down. Fill both tanks with clean water and proceed with dampened sand filling of the gaps around it. Build a 5 cm thick light concrete casting on top of it,finish with a 40 cm thick earth Activated sludge plant POLI 1 treats waste water from civil dwellings. It is installed between the sewage pipe coming from the house and final discharge. It performs sewage depuration and allows to discharge it in superficial water body. Following installation, air blower and diffuser have to be periodically checked. Make sure there no excess foam in the oxidation tank. A bacterial tablet may be dosed in the oxidation volume in layer on top. If cars are to pass on it, provide a reinforced concrete slab on top of the plant. Always make sure that all covers are inspectiona- ble by putting manholes on top of them. Connect the air blower with its control panel.The air blower needs to be positioned in a dry and aerated place. order to accelerate plant start up. Make sure there is no sludge stagnation in the settling tank or anaerobic processes may occur. Excess sludge must be removed from the plant every 6 months, contacting specialised companies. Make sure a venting column exists. If it does not, place a siphon before the plant or create a venting column.
